Paintings, Collages, and Mixed Media Work by Westy Caswell Copeland
On Display June and July 2025

Westy Copeland has been creating art now for over 40 years, developing a personal style that is colorful, whimsical and quirky. Westy creates paintings, prints, drawings, collages and other mixed media work. Her method is to “paint” her canvases with brushes, rags, stamps and stencils, as well as her bare hands. She often incorporates collage elements such as sheet music, newspapers, book pages and maps. Her quirky view of the world is presented through layers of color, shape and texture. The resulting images are like our lives; there is more to the story than what first meets the eye.
Westy built a following in Minneapolis but is now back in her native New England working out of a vintage Vermont barn. Come see her charming and imaginative work at the Piermont Public Library.
