Beautiful and Unique Hand Made Prints.
Sheryl says this about her work on display at the library:
“At a recent high school reunion (I won’t say which one), a former classmate who I did not recognize and do not even remember interacting with, came over to me and said, “I remember you! You were the girl that was always drawing horses.” He wasn’t wrong. Horses were my introduction to making art and creating stories. Decades later, I am still the girl who draws horses—and makes prints that speak to a life-long love of these amazing animals. These prints reflect the obsession that I know I share with thousands of little girls and boys who have carried it into adulthood.
The prints in this exhibit are single, unique images rather than multiples, even though some of the same plates are often used repeatedly to create prints that may have elements in common. I favor non-toxic methods for making prints such as monotype and collagraph. “
Included in this show are images of horses and ponies with riders or prints dealing with people’s relationships.
